Sweet Noshings Book Tour has been off to a heck of a start!
Y’all, I knew touring would be fun (how could traveling the country cooking and talking about yourself not be fun?), but somehow it’s been even better than I imagined! Love meeting so many of you. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried, we’ve noshed on bagels, we’ve traded recipes. It’s been lovely. I’m always updating my tour dates, so check back! First stop was Austin, where I played with rainbow confetti and frolicked around in a rainbow shoes. I like a theme. You can read about that here. Best day ever. Then I was off to San Anton for a Sips and Sweets demo- desserts and vino. My favorites!!
Then the real traveling began. Next stop, Jersey! But not before a little stop over at the Manischewitz factory!!! So cool, right? Like a kid in a candy store, or a Jewish food blogger making matzah at Manischewitz!!! Hairnets are sexy. Fact. My kind of art.
Then it was off to the Chicago ‘burbs for a challah bake with over 200 women! And one man. Everyone did a great job making their own challah like pros.
Then , straight to Chicago for Shabbat with OneTable. Bright lights, big city.
The team at Manny’s Deli made the Black + Pink Cookies, Ombre Rainbow Cookies and Baklava Rugelach from Sweet Noshings and they nailed it! We had our own Snapchat filter and everything!
Manny’s provided delicious savory food.
Yes, that is chopped liver on corned beef.
With my fave OneTable ladies!
I had time in Chicago to try some local rainbow food too. Rainbow dumplings at Imperial Lambien.
And Rainbow Cake at Goddess and the Baker.
Chews and views.
Then it was off to the OC! No Seth Cohen spottings, but we did a ton of cooking! First up was a kids class with Black + Pink Cookies, Baklavah Rugelach, Coffee Coffee Cake Muffins and Rainbow Macroons! These kids rocked! They all can bake like pros. We had so much fun.
Just as fun was the adults class at night.
We made Boozy Pomegranate Cake, Baklava Rugelach and Cardamom Espresso Mandel Bread along with Potato Zucchini Kugel Cupcakes, Kale, Avocado and Tahini Salad and Sumac Roasted Salmon with Almond Gremolata and Horseradish Cream. Manischewitz Sangria too.
What a crew! Then I was off to Palm Beach! This one was so fun. 70 ladies, and lots of them had been reading WJWE since the early days! I even got to see Tanya and Inessa, who I went to high school with! Go Warriors, or something.
We apple Apples, Honey and Goat Cheese Crostini and Apple Chai Cake!
Then I had two days off to sleep and catch up on 90 Day Fiance, and it was off to CT for Rosh Hashanah with my favorite ladies!! Mom and Bubbe.
I gave a talk while I was there. How cool is this library? Cool. Then, we all piled in the car and drove to Boston! Trust me, that was an entertaining trip.
I demoed Black + Pink Cookies and Rainbow Macaroons.
Most of the fam! Last stop was a good one. NYC! I was on Naomi Nachman’s radio show Table for Two with Liz!
After, we met up with Melinda and went to eat at Lox at the Museum of Jewish Heritage.
Three words for you: Jewish Bento Box.
Lox Reuben!!
LOX! Five ways. Shots! Shots! Shots! Of borscht. L’chaim!
Finished with this epic Russian Tea Cake. At night, I did a demo of Baklava Rugelach, served with Boozy Pomegranate Cake and Black and Pink Cookies for the Center for Jewish Heritage.
So happy!!
I did a few press stops the next day. Tasting Table and…
Cheddar Life! (at minute 17)
Couldn’t leave without a Black Seed Bagel
And breakfast at Zucker Bakery with the Jewish Food Society
Finally home!!! One more stop in Dallas to judge the 2nd Annual Dallas Kosher BBQ Cook-offand sign some books, and I was done. Stay tuned for Part II!

You don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy the foods, Amy!! Foods tell the stories of our families and it’s up to each generation to pass on the recipes and stories. As your pics show, boys need to know how to prepare the recipes, too!!

Love it! Thanks for commenting, Judy.

If you’re not going to ID the dish, don’t show it! It’s a form of bait and switch. The pic gets my attention, and then I’m never given facts to go with it.

Oy sorry! Which dish do you mean?
