Y’all often ask me how I can eat rugelach and challah all day and not be the size of a house. Well, the truth is, I love healthy food and eat healthy most of the time. Not that I’ll ever turn down homemade rugelach. But between running our Judaica store and cooking for the blog, I don’t always have time to make an awesome homemade meal. Sometimes it’s hummus and cucumbers for dinner while I’m editing photos. So I was pumped when Veestro reached out to me to try some of their new home-delivered kosher meals.
They have options for everyone. A la carte, meal packs, wedding prep, high-protein, gluten free, meals for weight loss, juice cleanses and now, kosher! (circle K) Here’s what you need to know:

I tried a bunch of meals and was super impressed. I’m normally not a fan of the taste of frozen meals, but these were delicious. Here is what I tried:
- Breakfast Burrito
- Enchilada Casserole
- Kale and Quinoa Salad with Tahini Dressing
- Sweet Potato Chili
- Spinach Pie
- Thai Chick’n Stew
- Chick’n Quesadilla
You probably know I’m not a vegan, but I love to eat vegetables and I think we could all eat a little less meat and a few more vegetables, right? Eating more plants has been proven to lower your risks of many chronic diseases, including Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s. Not to mention it’s much better for the environment. Sold. What were my favorites? The breakfast burrito with potatoes was hearty and full of flavor, thanks to the accompanying salsa. I added a little extra hot sauce, ’cause you know I like it hot! The casseroles were tasty too. I loved the enchilada casserole especially. It tasted super cheesy yet is vegan. How do they do it???!! Same with the quesadilla. So cheesy! But I didn’t feel weighed down after eating it. This kale and quinoa salad with tahini dressing and tofu was right up my alley. I used some leftovers with eggs to make a scramble! (Not vegan, but tasty.) And topped it with more of the salsa from the breakfast taco. But really, not a dog in the bunch. I ate them all!
