After Nosh Berlin, I headed to Prague! How to spend two days in Prague and do it all.
How gorgeous is Prague!? I was totally going to tack on a few photos from my two days in Prague at the end of my Nosh Berlin, but I packed so much into the short trip I thought it deserved its own post. It would be remiss of me to schlep all the way to Europe and not see another city while I was there. Prague is just a four hour train ride from Berlin, so was an easy choice (see also, the photo above, if you need more convincing). The train has wifi, but I preferred to enjoy the view:
Gorgeous, right? I stayed at the Hotel King David and was immediately wooed by the chandeliers at the entrance.
After a week in an AirBnB that was lovely but small, this suite was pure luxury. I swan dove into the huge bed immediately. Isn’t that what everyone does?
Noshed on some fresh fruit for a pre-lunch snack.
The bathroom was luxurious too! Not pictured, separate tub and shower with a huge rainfall shower head and a button that made the water the perfect temperature. Ahhh.
After a little R&R I was ready to explore. First stop, comparing Czech beers to German beers. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it. They use the crown currency (not the euro) in Prague and the exchange rate was excellent. This beer was the equivalent of a dollar! So I had 5. (JK, Mom!)
Paired with some goulash. Yas.
Na zdravi!
And then I walked off my goulash. Every building in Prague was gorgeous! But the secret is out. There were tourists everywhere! Below is the Old Town Square.
Just a few people. Is this where they filmed the Prague version of Full House? (lolz)
I spent a lot of time exploring the Jewish Quarter. Unlike Berlin, Prague was not damaged during WWII and the historic buildings are still in tact and there is an extensive collection of artifacts in the Jewish Museum too. Below is the Jewish Ceremonial Hall.
The Spanish Synagogue.
The Pinkas Synagogue.
The Jewish Town Hall.
The Maisel Synagogue. Somehow I missed this rainbow Jerusalem Synagogue and now I need to go back!
It’s easy to look up when you’re walking around Prague because it’s such a beautiful city, but don’t forget to look down. There are plaques all over Berlin, Prague and other cities memorializing those killed in the Holocaust in front of where they once lived. When they were born, when they were deported, and when they died.
That night I went to Michelin Star Eska for dinner. They are open for breakfast and lunch too. So make sure you get there for one meal at least! I meant to go back but ran out of time. And stomach room.
I treated myself to the tasting menu. “Do you want to add drink pairings?” If you insist.
All the courses were stellar, but this tartare was my favorite. They make all their bread in house, so save your gluten free days for when you get home.
I slept in at Hotel King David and relaxed with a little coffee in bed. Check out this bed, right?? I could fit 4 more people with me easily.
Hotel King David has a complimentary kosher breakfast buffet for guests every day, and other restaurants on the premises to make sure you don’t go hungry. I went straight for the lox.
Yum!
I spent the rest of the day exploring again.
The Prague Astronomical Clock is 600 years old and the oldest still-operating one in the world!
I didn’t go inside the Apple Museum but how cool is this? Remember these? This rotating Franz Kafka Statue is mesmerizing.
And right next to a Veuve Cafe!! When can I move in? #dreamhome
Hi! The Dancing House by Frank Gehry reminds me of some Gaudi in Barcelona!
I headed over the Charles Bridge to the Lenon Mural.
Can you spot the bride?
I worked up an appetite and headed to Michelin-starred Field for lunch.
Lunch started with not one but two types of butter. Two butters > one butter.
Then I had this insane goose liver with wine spirit, cherry, and pistachio. Not pictured chocolate mousse with currant, elderberry, and sorrel for dessert. Balanced meal.
I walked about two miles and escaped the tourists to Monolok for a little coffee and wifi.
Last meal in Prague! I headed to Lokal for some authentic Czech food.
Special sausage hehe. Paired with mustard and fresh horseradish.
And finally some schnitzel! With horseradish and cabbage salad. Yum.
Bye Prague! Until next time!
Hotel King David comped my hotel room, but I would stay there again in a second!

If you liked Prague you might want to check out L’viv in western Ukraine. It has many similar attractions, though with far fewer tourists and VERY cheap accommodations (you can rent an apartment in the center of town for $25 a night) and food (eat well for McDonald’s prices here). Also, there is an annual two week long klezmer festival every summer, just google L’viv Klez fest for details.
