Hey you! I am taking a little cooking break to relish in the sweet, sweet hipster scene that has descended upon Austin for SXSW. But I didn’t want to leave Jew hanging! Here are a few desserts I am toying with for the flour-less holiday of Passover. What do you guys think I should make?

  • Chocolate Caramel Matzah Crunch
  • Bubbe’s Famous Flourless Chocolate Cake
  • Macaroons
  • Chocolate Chip Meringues
  • Any other ideas??

i’d love to see a matzoh crunch- a less-formal dessert for packing in lunches or snacking on everyday other than the usual fancy dessert served at the seder.

can’t wait to see your passover recipes!

I make the matzo caramel crunch so I to vote for it….it is equivalent to crack for a crack addict (or so I’m told..no personal experience!) I see people make it with unsalted butter, but I always use salted. It gives more depth of flavor in my humble opinion. My recipe calls for 4 plain unsalted matzos, 1 cup salted butter, 1 cup packed brown sugar, 1 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup chocolate chips, and one 2 oz package of sliced almonds. Which recipe do you use?

With four votes, I think matzah caramel crunch is the winner! I actually have never had it so I am pumped to play with a recipe!
