Last week I went to a lovely locavore dinner at Eden East in East Austin with some fellow bloggers and my new BFFs from Prevention Magazine. (Do you see me in the above photo?) It was as farm-to-table as you can get, being steps away from gardens much of the produce came from, and an open kitchen where you could see the magic happen. And by magic, I mean the delicious menu below.Â

Besides enjoying a memorable meal, and copious amounts of wine, we were there to learn all about the 2nd Annual R3 Prevention Summit!
A full weekend of food, fitness, health, beauty and mindfulness. Sounds fun, right? When the PR team at Prevention invited me to attend, I was pumped of course. But then I realized that was the weekend my Bubbe, mom and uncle were visiting! Bummer. But, Prevention extended the generosity and let me bring the fam! Bubbe was so excited. She bragged to everyone she knew at her local JCC. Which is basically everyone at the JCC.
The event will include everything from lectures, to workouts to massages (!) to tasty food samples.
Amazing speakers like Andie MacDowell will speak on topics such as loving your age. They should have asked Bubbe for that one!
It’s pretty cool that they chose Austin for this empowering event. Proof that we are more than just breakfast tacos and brisket! (Mmm brisket.)

Can’t say I’ll be there, but I used to work for Prevention magazine years ago. Loved working there!
