I got back late last night from our annual 4th of July trek- it was fantastic as usual! This morning I felt great. Bright eyed and ready to seize the day! Flash forward to when I started to put together this blog post, and I feel incapable of forming full sentences. Food good. Also, it is difficult to type whilst sucking your thumb in the fetal position. But I digress.

I had a super tasty and colorful new recipe featuring my favorite food ready type up, but as I said, typing is hard. Instead, I give you my new favorite seasoning with this za’atar recipe! Don’t worry, the other recipe will go up later this week. This may be my new favorite spice- I’m putting the herby goodness in everything from olive oil for dipping pita, to pizza, to eggs, to burgers! Yum. You can find the lemony sumac at Whole Foods or local spice shops. I’ll be sure to show you some new recipes in coming weeks. Okay, enough chit chat, here are some Internet friendly highlights from my trip.

This classic middle eastern spice goes on everything from pizza to eggs. It’s herby and citrusy with the addition of sumac.

Nope! That’s Missy- but she’s adorable so I’ll take it. She’s also 8 inches taller than I am! I’m the red boa on the middle.
