So by the time I published this post I still had not heard the results from the Daily Candy contest, but I decided to have a giveaway for y’all anyways as a huge thanks for your votes and support!! Yay! The nice folks at Nektar contacted me about their honey crystals and I thought it coincided perfectly with Rosh Hashanah recipes and the blog party I was invited to! But more on that below. It also coincided perfectly with easing my nerves with a cocktail. I present, an Apples & Honey Cocktail!
What is Nektar? Good question! It is honey, in granulated form. Which means all of the taste of honey but none of that sticky mess- win! It’s easy to replace honey in recipes with it since one packet equals one teaspoon of honey. It’s also gluten free, all natural and kosher. Mazel! I already sprinkled mine in my yogurt, oatmeal, tea, and I can’t wait to bake with it instead of sugar. And of course an apples and honey cocktail to go with my apples and honey cupcakes! Rosh Hashanah dessert of champions. Here is all Jew need for cocktail glory.
I went with Crown, because I’m classy like that, but any whiskey will do. First up, mix cinnamon with a packet of Nektar and dip the martini glass into the water and then the mixture to rim the glass.
Then mix the whiskey, apple cider, and remaining Netkar packets with ice in a shaker. I would not shake- mix slowly so the cider does not explode! Unless you are into that.
After this photo, I accidentally spilled the rest of the whiskey all over my hand. Oops.
Now just pour and enjoy!
