Published by Amy Becker on May 4, 2016

WJWE has been on the road! A little recap of our Passover events for the St. Louis and Kansas City Federations.Kansas CIty Federation Y’all it’s been a busy April! I’ve been all over. (Or at least all over Texas and the midwest.) From a hamantaschen class for BBYO in San Antonio (thanks for the Snapchat tutorial, y’all) to a PJ Library Hamantaschen class and Israeli Cooking Demo here in Austin, it’s been busy. But super fun.
San Antonio BBYO(P.S. If you want me to come to your city, email me at amy at whatjewwannaeat dot com and we can talk about details! Yay!)

How gorgeous is The Venue (that’s actually what it’s called) in Leawood?Kansas City Federation

We had a sold out event in KC of 120 women! I told stories, shared some Passover recipe tips, and answered questions about Jew food and blogging and life. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did! These lovely ladies planned the whole thing! Kansas City FederationJust some of the spread!

Manischewitz Sangria for everyone!

Kansas City FederationSome were skeptical, but by the end, there was no sangria left. Mmm hmm.

I loved that so many mothers, daughters and grandmothers came together! Wish my Mom and Bubbe could have been there too!Kansas City Federation

P.S. These adorable aprons are from my Etsy Store. Kansas City Federation

I demoed Rainbow Macaroons from my cookbook, Vegetarian Chopped Liver, Israeli Quinoa Salad plus there were bites of Apple Beet Charoset,Vegetable Kugel with Caramelized Leeks, Matzah Puppy Chow and more!
Kansas City FederationIt was especially fun meeting everyone there! Lots of invisible internet friends and new friends. Everyone was just so darn nice! I hope I can come back. xoxKansas City Federation

The next day I catered a brunch for 15 and did one more demo before Shabbat time! Whew. First, I chatted with the RaBBi-Q himself (get it, like BBQ Rabbi? Don’t you love that?) Mendel and got to try some of his tasty kosher BBQ sauces.Kansas City Federation

And then had Shabbat dinner with the hysterical Yosef and Daniella. They made way too much super delicious food, and had enough wine for a approximately four times as many people as were at dinner. It was delightful.  Kansas City Federation

Next up The Lou! (Do people still say that?) St. Louis FederationI was in beast chef mode all day, as we cooked for not one but three events. Luckily, I had lots of help- thanks y’all!St Louis Federation

It was so fun meeting everyone! How is everyone from the Midwest just so darn nice? And, how’s this for Jewish geography, my long lost friend from Jew camp in Massachusetts, Shira, was there! I hadn’t seen her in 15 years!St Louis Federation

Shalom! I’m Amy Kritzer Becker and welcome to What Jew Wanna Eat! Your source for home cooked (sometimes) kosher goodness. I have always enjoyed cooking and baking, but needed a new goal, a challenge, to get back to my culinary roots. So, I called up Bubbe Eleanor and pleaded for her to send me her best recipes. Stat!
