Matzah Bark

Looking for an easy Passover dessert? Matzah bark is here! I even covered it with glitter. Word is still out if glitter is kosher for Passover…
Matzah Bark
I’ve mentioned before, but Passover desserts aren’t my favorite. I’m not a sweet person anyway, so take out the flour and what’s the point?? I’d rather eat fruit. Or more savory stuff (cheeeeseeee). But, this season I may have proven myself wrong. I already made this killer Flourless Cayenne Chocolate Cake, and have some truffles coming up that are going to BLOW YOUR MIND. Not to mention, all the winners in our Passover ebook. And now, matzah bark. I may just be onto something.

Matzah Bark
Osem USA, America’s leading brand of Israeli-made Kosher-for-Passover products (got that?) sent me some matzah and other goodies to try and the first thing I wanted to make was matzah bark. Because bark is good, and matzah is crunchy, so matzah bark should be extra good, if my math is correct. (Though this is Sunday morn so no promises.) Osem is Israel’s largest and most popular dry foods manufacturer and Israel’s leading exporter of kosher foods to the US. Neat!

Osem

The mentioned they have a slew of contests including giving away $2,500 and matzah freshness pouches (why didn’t I think of that??) going on RIGHT NOW until April 7 on their Facebook page. And y’all know how much I love winning things. I’m not going to brag, I win things. A lot. But here is your chance!

Osem recently rebranded their Passover product line, and I used their new matzah to make this matzah bark. I was super impressed with the light, crunchy texture and taste. A+! Shalom is right.

Matzah Bark

Let’s make matzah bark! Some matzah facts for you: the average household purchases 5.8 boxes of matzah for Passover each year. Matzah is the most popular spelling, followed by matzo or matza. Anyhoo, preheat your oven to 350 and sprinkle chocolate chips over matzah on a foil lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 3-4 minutes to melt chocolate. Meanwhile, get your toppings ready. I used almonds, coconut, sprinkles and GLITTER.

Matzah Bark

You heard me. Glitter! Once chocolate is warm, spread evenly with a knife to cover matzah and sprinkle immediately with toppings. Cool (in the refrigerator to speed things up if you like) and then break into pieces.

Matzah Bark

Yum!

Yummy! We keep all the meal elements very simple — with as few changes of courses and dishes as possible. We’ve gotta keep things streamlined, because of the little ones at our table. But matzah bark — yes! That fits out needs. Matzah bark plus a fruit salad and we’re good to go for Seder dessert. Thanks!!
