Tieks Review!

I may never wear heels again and I’m not sorry. A Tieks review!

tieks review

When I lived in NYC, I was a total heel girl. I’m only 5’2″, and date tall boys. Plus, they are so cute! (The shoes, and the boys.) I still have a collection of 4-inch sparkly, glittery, metallic shoes. And I love looking at them from time to time. But when I moved to Texas five years ago and bought my first pair of cowboy boots it was game over. Cute, comfy, and impresses the locals. Plus, easy for riding mechanical bulls. But now, there is another game in town.

tieks review

If you read blogs, you’ve probably seen Tieks before. Comfy, adorable ballet flats that all the cool kids seem to all have. So I needed them of course! I tried out the lavender snake, because I like subtlety. The match everything! For real.

Now these shoes aren’t cheap (the one’s I have are $295) so they better be comfortable, right? I don’t even want to tell you what I’ve spend on heels that I can hardly stand in long enough to pose for a picture. But everyone said they are the most comfortable flats ever, so the bar was set high. Because the only thing worse than uncomfortable heels is uncomfortable flats. Whomp whomp.

I immediately put on my chef outfit and went outside to light fireworks. You know, something natural! Yes I do cook in sequins and the actual pink taffeta skirt from my Bat Mitzvah. And yes it was warm enough in Austin to don this outfit in January.

Even Beau got in on the action!

So people often ask me, what do you do all day? Besides Instagram photos and frolic in sequins. Besides the blog, I do some consulting, lots of professional recipe development, some private chef work, and a few other projects that are top secret! But mostly, I’m on my feet. A lot. So I need shoes that can stand up to it! (Ha, get it?)

tieks review

Whheeee! The verdict? I wore my tieks the first day for 10 hours, and at the end, they were still pretty comfy! Right out of the adorable box, they feel like budda. They didn’t rub my heels at all (I hate that) and I didn’t have that omg-so-happy-my-shoes-are-off feeling. After a week of wearing them, they molded to my feet. After a month, I wear them always. Plus, they fold into themselves and come with two travel bags. For those times you have to wear heels but secretly are switching into flats as soon as you can. And the turquoise bottoms are super sturdy, so you don’t have to worry about wearing them to the ground. Which I have done to other subpar shoes.

tieks review

The perfect shoe for lighting fireworks and baking rugelach! All my favorite things. I need the rose gold next for sure. Do you have Tieks? What do you think?

They look so cute! Are they a breathable shoe though since they are leather, as in would you have smelly feet after wearing them?

Thanks! They do smell a little if you wear them a lot in the heat, but not bad. I also like Rothys and those you can wash in the washing machine!
