Thanksgiving Leftover Cook-off!

Thanksgiving Leftover Cook-Off

Thanksgiving Leftover Cook-off!

Happy almost Turkey Day! Some of you may still be planning your Thanksgiving menus out, but I am already on leftovers. Glorious leftovers. Cold turkey sandwiched between day-old dinner rolls, slathered in canned cranberry sauce, congealed gravy, and topped with a scoop of lumpy mashed potatoes. That’s so yesterday!

Some argue that the leftovers rival the feast when it comes to Thanksgiving. Everyone has their favorite way to devour the delicious bits that have been left behind. Watch as three Google+ foodies (including me!) battle to prove whose leftovers reign supreme.

When: November, 23 at 6:00 PM CST
Where: Live, via Google + Hangout – RSVP on Google+
What: A live, online cook-off, using Thanksgiving leftovers as main ingredients
Who: Hosted by Will Burdette of No Satiation, competitors will include Mary Helen Leonard of Mary Makes Dinner, and me (follow me on Google+ here) plus one more!
What’s at stake: Kick-ass prizes sponsored by the friendly folks at Google and eternal glory as the leftover champion!

Cooking will happen live via hangout. Afterward, photos and descriptions will be uploaded on Mary’s site, and y’all can vote for me your favorite and a champion will be named!  I’ll update this post when it’s time to vote!

Shalom! I’m Amy Kritzer Becker and welcome to What Jew Wanna Eat! Your source for home cooked (sometimes) kosher goodness. I have always enjoyed cooking and baking, but needed a new goal, a challenge, to get back to my culinary roots. So, I called up Bubbe Eleanor and pleaded for her to send me her best recipes. Stat!
