I hope you all had a fabulous seder or two! Any good recipes you would like to share? I am always on the lookout for new inspiration. In preparation for our seder, we took an exodus (pun intended) out to Kosher HEB to stock up on matzah meal and free Haggadahs (how quintessentially Jewish). We practically had to fight off a frat house worth of UT Sammys (what an attractive bunch of Jews) over the last borscht in a jar. What a trip! And you thought there were no Jews in Texas. For the record, there were a whopping three at our seder. And speaking of our seder, I thought I would share some photos!
Our lovely table. I’m kvelling!
Just a little skyline view of Austin. No biggie.
And a sunset lake view. Now for the food!
A little twist on bagels, lox and schmear.
Our haggadah- sponsored by Maxwell House.
Our gracious host.
The seder crew. (Reveling in my matzah ball soup!)
Cornish hen for dinner (totally traditional).
Our Kosher chocolate seder plate. (Deemed the least edible chocolate ever. Minus one for the Jews.)
The obligatory twelve four glasses of wine.
I’ll be back next week with more fun recipes for Jew. And a Happy Easter to my gentile followers!
Mazel!

Nice pics! Is that the view from your home? OMG those are great views! Love the matzo lox schmear! My mouth is watering! Are the plates made by Dansk? I have the same pattern…I love the blue and white. I also have some of the discontinued Dansk pattern with navy, dark blue, and light blue flowers-Dansk Tivoli la tulipe. I went to Miami and found a Dansk warehouse years ago and shlepped them back on the plane! If you want to see what they look like, paste the long link below.

I’m really glad I discovered your blog! I’ve been looking for authentic “more healthy” recipes to try – I know I’m a little late for Seder, but this just means I have more time to practice!

Thanks for reading, Laura Jayne! And let me know if you have any questions about making recipes healthier. Not all of mine are healthy but I have a few tricks!
